Shannon Hicks, M.Ed., BCBA, LBA, has over 20 years of experience working with students with disabilities. Shannon started her career as a Special Education Teacher. Her first assignment was in a self-contained classroom that consisted of students with a variety of disabilities under her daily instruction. She then went to teach Fourth Grade for three years. Knowing that her passion was working with children with disabilities, she was a Resource Educator for four years. Her next position as an Admission, Review, and Dismissal Facilitator, allowed her to work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators on ensuring students received the appropriate accommodations and modifications in the classroom. As an Autism Supervisor for Midland Independent School District, she facilitated and designed instruction for students diagnosed with Autism and other behavioral issues. Shannon believes in ensuring all students are provided high-quality services to ensure lifelong success. She advocates for children with a disability for a quality of life that will help them succeed and accomplish their goals in the future.
